Empowering Your
Balanced Motherhood
Honoring heritage through holistic support. We bridge the gap between traditional wisdom and science-backed maternal care for mothers of African descent.
The Founder
Hiwote Bekele, MPH
Rooted in my Ethiopian heritage and trained in Public Health, I founded Yehiwote Mizan to provide the culturally grounded support that is often missing in modern maternal care.
I believe that motherhood is a communal journey. By integrating clinical knowledge with traditional wisdom, I help mothers of African descent navigate the beautiful complexity of lactation, nutrition, and holistic wellness.
Our Mission
Restoring balance through four core pillars of culturally informed maternal wellness.
Lactation Guidance
Evidence-based support tailored to your unique lifestyle and cultural traditions.
Ancestral Nutrition
Postpartum healing through whole foods and nutrient-dense traditional recipes.
Clean Environments
Practical ways to reduce toxins and create a safe sanctuary for your growing family.
Informed Choices
Science-backed insights that respect and honor your maternal intuition.
How I Work
Our Approach
My approach is holistic, culturally grounded, and realistic. I believe health education should meet you exactly where you are — honoring both your heritage and your daily reality.
Rooted in Science
Every recommendation is grounded in evidence-based research and clinical best practices, so you can trust the guidance you receive.
Respects Culture & Experience
Your lived experience and ancestral traditions are not obstacles — they are wisdom. Guidance here honors both.
Small, Practical Steps
Real life is complex. Sustainable change comes through small, achievable actions that genuinely fit into your world.
